OTIRA TUNNEL
NEW RAILWAY TIMETABLE

CHRISTCHURCH, This Day
The new time-table for tlie railway between Canterbury and the West Coast comes into operation on Monday, August 6th. It provides for an express train from Christchurch and Greymouth. and a connecting train at Hokitika on Hon'd a vs, Tuesdays. Thursdays, Saturdays; connection with Ross on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays; and Rewanut on Saturdays. There will be a saving ot 2 hours 52 minutes on the present tune, by making the journey ChristchurchGreymouth through the tunnel. It is expected that control ot tin; tunnel section will he transferred trom the Public Works to the Railway Depart merit on the opening day. Charges for goods will be the same as charged for similar distances on any other section of railway in the Dominion. There will be no special tunnel charges.
