He was able to give some rice and biscuits from the ship's stores, but the amount was not sufficient t<> lasl long. .Mi- Low, a Government oflicial on the islands, came out to the Forest Home in a boat flying the blue ensign and. asked for supplies owing to food on the island having gone bad. ih was..grateful to Captain Wewelzer for what he was able to spare. There are only three white people on the island and the native inhabitants number 1500.
