BISHOP IN POLYNESIA CONSECRATED
FORMER NELSONIAN The beautiful and ancient chapel of Lambeth Palace, where over four hun-. tired Bishops have been consecrated, was the scene yesterday morning of the consecration of the Rev. Leonard Stanley Kcmpthorno as Bishop in Polynesia, says the Morning Post of •sth March last. The ceremony w.as performed by l the Archbishops of Canterbury, and" the Bishop-designate was presented by the Bishop of Salisbury and the Bishop of Lichfield. Bishop King, Secretary of the S.P.G., and Bishop Twitchcll, the first Bishop in Polynesia, who is succeeded by the new Bishop, took part in the service. Among the congregation were Sir James Allen, High Commissioner for New Zealand, and Lady Allen. The new Bishop was formerly engaged in work in Singapore. ("Bishop Kempthonie is a son of the Veil.
