A "PEEPING TOM"

INVERCARGILL, April 18 At the Magistrate's Court, John Ryan was sentenced to two years' reformative treatment on a charge of being found by night in the Southland Hospital grounds. Accused made a statement. To the police that at 10.30 o'clock on 10th April he climbed a cabbage tree overlooking the nurses' quarters. and remained there for some time. He then got down and climbed another tree About 12.45 o'clock a lady doctor heard a rustling noise in a tree, and informed the police. Ryan lay ilat on the treo and eluded detection for a considerable time. The police stated that there was a considerable amount of the same thing going on at Invercargill, but they could not connect accused with the oher cases. Ryan is not mentally or physically strong.
