CRIBBAGE

NELSON ASSOCIATION The annual meeting of the Nelson Cribbage Association was held in Stallard's rooms on 17th inst., and was well attended. The officers present were .Messrs Logan, Blincoe, Stallard, Barnett, Tanner, Edwards, and the secretary (S. M. Stevens). Mr Logan, in the unavoidable absence. of the incoming president, was voted to the chair. The balance-sheet was read and adopted, and on the previous season's working disclosed a very gratifying credit balance. The election of .iffijers resulted :—President, .Mr Gestro; vice-president, Mr B. Edwards; secretary. Mr S. M. Stevens: treasurer, Mr K. Stallard; match recorder, Mr Edwards; the committee to consist of captains of teams*. The past season pvoved the most successful since the. inauguration of tho Association, both financially and in the interest taken in the competition. Congratulations were accorded the winners, the Tail una nui team, who entered for the first time and carried off several prizes. This season, which opens on Tuesday, May Ist, promises to be as successful. Five teams have already entered, with another to come, and nominations close on Tuesday next, April 24th. The five teams already entered consist of Tahunanui. Albion, Citizens, Scottish, and Old Navals.

The probability of this season's prizelist being increased will no doubt make the competition even more interesting and keener than it was last season.

The meeting was brought to a close with a hearty vote of thanks to the chair and officers present.
