Tliere will be a special, carol and mus-i cal service to-morrow evening at All Saints', Vanguard Street with Mrs Monyhan, Messrs W. Tait and J. Scott as soloists. The vicar will preach on '■Following the Star” showing the bearing of modern discovery on the old story. Oil Christmas Day there will be services at 8 a.in. and 11 a.m. At Trinity Presbyterian Church tomorrow, Christmas Sunday services'will be held. The subjects of the sermons will be-morning, “Above Every Name” ; evening, “The Things that make for Peace—A .meditation for Christinas.” There will be carols and seasonable music at night and a retiring offertory will he taken for the Shaftesbury Society'and Ragged School Union. Christmas enrols and hymns will be given at St: John’s Methodist Church services, to which visitors are, invited. The Rev. H. L. Blamiros will take as the morning subject ‘The Meaning of Christmas,’’-and at 6.30 p.m. “The Enduring Name.” 1 Christmas services will be held in the Richmond Baptist Church to-morrow at 11- a.m. and 2.45 p.m., and will be conducted by the Rev. E. T. Jones-and Mr Harold Wood, of Nelson respectively. A memorial service to the late Rov. R. S. Gray, General Secretary of the Baptist Union of N.Z. will be held at 7 p.m., when llie! Rev. E. T. Jones will preach and appropriate hymns and music sung and rendered. - Special' Christmas services . will he (conducted at The Salvation Army tomorrow by Captain and Mrs Bridge. The subject for the morning service is “Glad Tidings of Great Joy.” At 3 p.m. a special programme of Christmas music and will be rendered. Mis Toomer will sing “With their flocks in the. fields abiding.” The first 30 minutes of the song service at night will be devoted to carol singing. Mrs Toomer will siug “No Room in the Inp. ’ and Captain Bridge will take as bis .‘■■'object. “Ho Came.” Usual services at- Church of Christ tomorrow. At 6.30 p.m. a special Christmas service, when (he singing of old favourite hymns will be led by the senior scholars. Pastor Carpenter will take for Ids subject, u No Room .in the Christmas services will be held in the Baptist Church to-morrow, anil will be conducted by the Rev. J. Laird. There will he a service at 11 specially for the scouts and scholars of the school; A Bible Class rally and tea will he held in the afternoon'. At the evening service the subject will he “The Contrast of B.C. and A.D.” Visitors to the city heartily welcomed.
