LOWER MOUTERE
; ORCHARDS DAMAGED BY H7SKK . At the last monthly mooting of the Lower Moutore Fruitgrowers' tAssociation a. resolution was passed. “ r lhat a [otter be sent to the .Minister ol Internal Affairs, pointing out that damage is being done in ibis district, by deei , and that' steps should be taken to cope with this menace.’” In some parts of bower Moutore the orehardists are experiencing .considerable trouble' with doer, and much d;mv 'itre is benu r done to the iruit lieeb. It is contended that the fleer slielter among the young pines and come out in the e\ en'ings. If they are allowed to contimio tboir nightly escapades, without some drastic action being taken in the near future, it will be a most ddiicnb i business to get rid of them, \ihen the I pine trees, which, cover extensive areas in the Moutore, have grown larger. In j'tho meantime deer are ruining many of j the orchards, besides doing damage elsewhere.
