COM K.DV “.JANE" PRESENTED TO A CROWDED MOUSE (From Our Own Corespondent. The Motueka Amateur Dramatic Society gave their final performance of “Jane'’ on Thursday evening in the Institute Hall to an over-flowing house. The comedy was again splendidly acted, the members of tlie company being all in first das? form. Judging by the amount of merriment and laughter created by the caste throughout the three acts of the comedy the audience must have enjoyed “Jane” immensely. The performers as well as the promoters, 1 Messrs Cana van. Wallace and Gray, ought to lie highly gratified with the enthusiastic reception which their production received. The Tasman Orchestra played some very fine music, which materially contributed to the success of the play 7. Air Canavan thanked the Orchestra for their kind co-operation and for the fine selections they had rendered. He said the Tasman Orchestra was always willing to assist them and the members were considered as members of this Society. (Applause.) Tlie stage arrangements were most artistic and all that could be desired. .Messrs A. Manoy and Sons. Ltd., generouslv lent' tlie Society many pieces of valuable furniture, which greatly added to the realistic effects. This is the, first occasion cm which Air Canavan has acted as stage manager and the great success of “.lane” proclaims him to be a most capable one. Manv beautiful bouquets were presented to the ladies.

At the conclusion the performers were entertained by the Society to a supper, during which many complimentary speeches wen l made..
