WELLINGTON, This Day. Judgment was given by the Chief Justice in the Whiter naturalization ease. Whiter was hoVn in Germany and was once a German subject, hut obtained letters of naturalization -in 1911, which were revoked by _ the Act of 1917. He was then convicted > for -failing to make application to register as an alien. Sir IE Stout held that tie conviction must stand. The ques-tic-ti was raised that Walter was willing to register if not required to admit that he was a German subject; but that could not be dealt with. But as appellant had acted openly and in good faith no costs wore allowed. 1
