Believing the recent elections who wed nation wide * dissatisfact ion with the present political loaders’ methods, Senator Lafolletto called a meeting of progi/ssives for the purpose; of initiating a minor definite bloc in the next Congress. Thirteen senators and twenty-one House members attended. While dosavowing any intention to initiate a third party resolutions were, presented for, the organisation of a bipartisan bloc in both the House and the Senate with subcommittees to work in framing legislation. A nation wide campaign will be started for tin; abolition of the electoral college and open and direct primaries,' and tin; enactment of a 'corrupt practices ad. The progressives also seek reforms regarding' agriculture, labour, railways, shipping, natural resources and taxation.
