EXTREME SENTENCES CONFIRMED

WASHINGTON, Nov, 13
The Supreme Court confirmed the rigorous sentence of thp Philippine High Court condemning eleven members of the Philippine Constabulary to death and sixty-six to a sentence of life miprisonmeni in chains. r ihe incidentarose through a quarrel between the Manilla police and Constabulary. Ihe latter charged the police and insulted a constable’s wife. A fight ensued and one constable was killed. Ihe Court sentenced eleven constables to life imprisonment in chains and sixty-six to imprisonment in chains for seventeen vears.' The' prisoners escaped after incarceration, but were recaptured, ihe Court then increased the sentence to-tnc i limit.
