ROSE SHOW
DISPLAY IN Y.M.C.A. HALL
The Nelson Horticultural Society’s rose show is being held at the Y.M.G.A. Hall, Bridge-street, to-day. The competition classes were confined to roses only. Bad weather conditions during the past fortnight seriously affected the entries, ail growers complaining that their blooms had been badly knocked about. As a. result the display is not so good as anticipated, either in the roses or in the decorative section.. However, there are some beautiful rbses staged. Several members supplied ■'surplus roses and other flowers, enabling quite a nice display to be made. I'l’he roses were judged by Mr A. - Hay, and , the decorative section by Mrs Mdynihau.
