DISTRESS SIGNALS
(United Press Association.) DUNEDIN, This Day
The steamer Breeze, which left Lyttellon on Saturday for Dunedin, was seen giving signals of distress off Moeraki. 32 miles north of Ota go Heads. Engine trouble is believed lo be the cause of the vessel drifting north. A tug left Poi't Chalmers at 4 o'clock yesterday to render assistance. A strong south-west wind was blowing, which would make towing difficult. The Breeze was expected to reach Port Chalmers early this morning.
