A Sydney cable slates that u deputation ‘from the West Darling district asked the Minister of Lands for protection against the wild dog menace. The speaker stated that Hie numbers of sheep’* in the three largest districts in the north-west was 1,250,000 in 1911, and 271,000 in 1920. The _ decrease was primarily due to the wild dogs. The deputation requested that £50,000 should he set aside to enable mam fences to he built and others to he reapiml, and the necessary netting to lie made available for private fences on easy terms.
