Coales said there was no further development respecting the Post and Telegraph Association’s decision to affiliate with the Alliance of Labour. No reply has yet been received to tho Hon. A meeting of the Trades Union executive congratulated the P. and T. Association on joining the Allia*jfe of Labour, and promised support if necessary. The meeting recommended calling a national eonlerence to consider means of amalgamating the Alliance of Labour, Australian Workers’ Union, and all other trades unions in New Zealand, EMPHATIC STATEMENT BY PREMIER AFFILIATION WILL NOT .BE ALLOWED WELLINGTON, This Day. A deputation of well over a hundred, representing the Welfare League, Chamber of Commerce, shipping, commercial, tanning, professional, ami business interests, waited on Air Massey and tho Hon. J. G. Coates this morning regarding the decision of the P. and T. Association to affiliate with the Alliance of Labour, and urged that the Government should absolutely decline to deaf with the Alliance in any matters affecting the P. and T, Association, and, further, that if the P. and T. Association becomes part of the Alliance th® Government should refuse all recognition of the Association.

Mr Milssey, iu reply, said tho Go* vernmeuL will on no account consent to the affiliation of the P. and T.
