Reason, commonsense, public interest, self-interest, all are on the side of the loan. Motucka and district will 'suffer, serious injury if sea communication is lost. Every individual ratepayer will also bo a heavy loser. The value of every property in the district will he affected, There is no saying whore the loss will end. it will cost some thing to build an efficient wharf, hut it will cost infiniielv more to try ami do without it. Tho Motucka district, acre for acre, is one of the most productiveareas in the Dominion, hut production without markets or without suitable communication to those markets is useless.
