V.R.C. MEETING

The weather was bright, with an enormous attendance for the first, day of the V.R.C. meeting at Jdemiugton. The Govornor-Genor il and State Governors were present, also a lew New Zealanders. The going was good. Armed Alliance was always prominent and won the Maiden in fast, time, Duncan rode the winner. .Dempsey’s mount, Anatolia, dislodged the rider prior to the Afrybyrnong start, and bolted and took no part in ihn race. ' This is McLaclilan’s third success' in this race. _ Bellamhi post 475 guineas as a yearling. Alter the race Bellamhi dislodged'the rider, who landed on his feet. There was a good race for the Melbourne Stakes. Vlolinceilo led early from Eurythmie, who wont to the front) at (he distance and won nicely, Dempsey rode Eurythmie and had a groat' reception.
