CHARLIE CHAPLIN'S MOTHER

NEW YORK, March 2& Mrs Chaplin, mother of Charles Chaplin, film actor, has, teen temporarily detained by immigration officials on the ground that she is suffering from mental disorder, but she has been permitted to proceed to Los Angeles with Charles Chaplin's secretary after bonds were furnished. It is said that Mrs Chaplin is suffering from shell shock, due to the airraids in England. Charles Chaplin took up negotiations with Washington more than two year;, ago to obtain permission to bring his mother to Los Angeles, and declared he would glaldly spend his entire fortune if he could cure her disease.
