The International Communications Couferejire reached';) tentative agreement whereby the United States will receive fiie Pacific cable from Guam to Yap and the Atlantic cable from JJrcst to New York, Japan obtaining the exGerman cables from Yap to Shanghai and Yap to Dutch East Indies. Japan insists upon operating the Yap end of the Guam-Yap cable until Yap's status is disposed of. It is understood the official announcement awaits France's assent.
