POWDERY SCAB IN POTATOES
(United Press Association) WELLINGTON, This Day> Mr: S. O. Harris, the Australian expert, who has been investigating scab in potatoes in the Dominion, has returned to Australia. He states his report is confidential. He expects the decision of the Commonwealth ■ Government will, probably ho made next week. Any action Australia may take must not bo interpreted sis a desire to restrict the export .of potatoes, as such, to the Commonwealth, hut powdery scab, which is believed to bo non-existent in Australia and its introduction is dreaded. Mr Harris, before leaving, expressed gratification at the assistance _ the officers of the Department of Agriculture, which materially facilitated his investigation.
