Polish sources confirm the Bolshevik recapture of Kieff. The coup was carried out by a Bolshevist cavalry corps which penetrated Jitomir, where they remained a few hours, burning the hospital and killing six hundred Polish wounaed, besides doctors and nurses. The Roles maintain that the holding of Kieff constituted a danger to Polish troops. The military significance of the coup is far less than the political.
