During an attack on the police barracks at Carragadhoid (County Cork), a constable dropped a rifle and played a violin with the idea of cheering Ids comrades. The attack failed, but the barracks was partly destroyed by explosives and petrol. ANOTHER CONSTABLE MURDERED (By Electric’ Telegraph—Copyright) (Australian A N.Z. Mr Churchill in an article in the, Sunday Herald, on the Irish murder campaign, states that no nation ever established its title, deeds by a campaign of assassination. The British nation, after coming grimly through the slaughter of Armageddon, will not be scared *by so-called scenes enacted in Ireland' She may be alienated, irritated, and ultimately inf inflated, but not terrorised. 'Britain *will never concede independence to a republic or forcibly compel Ulster to participate in a Dublin Parliament.
