(By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Australian & N.Z. Cable Association) LONDON, June 11 It is authoritatively stated that Mt "Watt suspended the wool negotiations a fortnight ago, when the rupture with Air Hughes began to develop. At that .time the negotiations had reached the following stage; The British Government had definitely refused Mr Hughes’s request to suspend the London sales for. six months. The Government was prepared to pay Mr Watt £10,000,000 immediately as the first instalment of profits. The Government will shortly publish a report and balance sheet of sales to 31st March, 1919. (Rec. June 14, 9A5 a.m) LONDON'" June 13.
The News of the World states that Mr Watts’ resignation was due to the discovery that Mr Hughes had not communicated to him the contents of cablegrams between Mr Hughes and the Imperial Government regarding wool.
