JOCKEYS’ DISPUTE

o— ■ (United Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day Replying to the statement by Mr •Shea-tb, secretary of the .Jockey’s Association, Sir G. Clifford states-that fully ‘3O jockeys informed him that they have resigned from the Association. As far as he knows no pndiviidual jockey was threatened with severe or any punishment. He never said, as stated by Mr Sheath, that he would not recognise or confer with any association of jockeys. In fact, he has already so conferred, but an association so constituted as tbc New Zealand Jockeys’ Association, and adopting its arbitrary methods, can, in bis opinion, only be injurious to all concerned.
