A DESERVING CASE

SUNDAY'EVENING CONCERT . It is hardly necessary for us to remind bur readers of the concert to be given in the ' Empire Theatre after church, in aid of a local family in destressed circumstances. The facts have already ' been'set out in these columns. The breadwinner is totally incapicated with two broken legs ; the wife is a chronic invalid ; there are five children, all of whom are under eight years of age - . These should appeal to the generous and the unselfish. The programme for to-morrow. evening’s conceit, whiqh is published elsewhere in this issue, is an excellent one, and those who attend, will not ofily have the satisfaction of knowing that they are helping a good cause, but may look forward to a very enjoyable, evening’s entertainment. As'we have stated before, the Theatre, advertising, etc. is being given free, so that there will be nothing to deduct for expenses from the gross takings. The promoters hop© the concert will be a huge financial success. The programme will include a male quartette by Messrs C. Thorp, T. Taylor, Short, and A. Gj r Thompson. Miss I). Horn will make her first appearance as a soloist. .
