APPLES FOR EXPORT.
7000 CASES WANTED FROM NELSON IMRDIATE APPLICATION NECESSARY A telegraphic despatch received from the New Zealand Fruitgrowers’ Federation, Wfl lingtqn, this morning, states that the Shipping Board have allotted space on a steamer sailing on March 6th to England, for 16,000 cases of fruit. Under a proportionate allotworked on basis of space applied for, about 7000 eases of this space will probably be reserved for Nelson fruit The instructions, received by Mr Bundle, who returned from Wellington this morning, are that all\ fruit for export by this boat, must reach Wellington not later than Monday week, March Ist, so • packing should commence immediately* and the packed cases stored in ‘ a cool place until shipment is Owing to the ..disorganised condition of the fruit industry in this province and the scattered area from which fruit will be shipped, growers exporting are asked to telephone Mr Bundle, 407, Nelson, varieties and quantities available, when allotment will be made All ap''.plications must be received not later than Tuesday evening next, to be "included in this shipment.
