SKETCH The third of the sketch exhibition* for 1919 was held by the Side* Art Society this afternoon-in the ■Sut-ar Art GaJlexy. The majority of the--framed pictures by the Nelson artists ' are to bo sent 011 to the IV ellington Exhib 5 on, to be he'd next month. Noticeakt.e among these are “The Green Pam#,'” by -Mrs Leo Mauoy (Mina Arndt), a study ot Nydiangea with a green parrot. Mrs Topliss has some good work, “Near Bishopdale.” “Roses,”and “The Rocks Road. ’ Miss Sadd’s work represents Tahuna Sand a«nd the ,Mt. Arthm Range. Miss Nina Junes sends to Wellington a study of Raouilio Exuata, commonly called vegetable sheep, mj- 11 * tiowd by Dr Cockayne in his interests, lecture 'on behalf of the taw tin on Institute a short time ago, also a water colour painting, “The Old Maori Pah : Amongst other* local sketch exhibit:ons Miss Harris has : 'a screen devoid to New Zealand flower I 'sketches, yellow knwhia and native birds being a ful representation.
