MILITARY DEFAULTERS
OFFICIAL LIST ISSUED. In pursuance of section 8 of the Expeditionary Forces Amendment Act, 1918, the Minister of Defence lias published a list of military defaulters, the list containing 2600 names. These men. besides suffering other penalties, are deprived of their civil rights for ten years. Provision is,mode for those men' whose names appear in the list in error, to lodge an appeal to a Magistrate within three months of the notice. The list includes the following : Buchanan, J., gardener, Nelson. Connor, Gerald, farmer, Clarke Valley, Nelson Eaton, James, labourer, .Nelson. Gardner, Robert W., labourer, Nelson, Hetherington. Frank, miner, Nelson. Livesay, Walter J. 8., clerk, St, Vin-cent,-street, Nelson. Main, Daniel, seaman, e.s. Kennedy. Nelson. O’Connor, .Limes T., miner, Howard, Nelson. O’Doherty , Thomas P., labourer, Tasman Hotel, Nelson O’Shea, Michael, shearer, Harley-st.. Simson. Fred, carman, Railway Hotel. Richmond. Smith, Robert, labourer, Sandy Bay, Nelson. Thomas, Wm. H., oi’chardist, Lower M outer e. Webb, John R., fireman, 2 Chandler street, Nelson.
