STATEMENT BY" MINISTER OF DEFENCE. (United Fre*» Association’ WELLINGTON, May 22. In a statement regarding the demob ilisation of men in Egypt, the Minister of Defence says: “No one. regrets more than;! do the- fact that our men in Egvpt have not been-able to return, to New Zealand for demobilisation at a faster rate than Bias beqn possible up to the present. No effort Ha© been spared to obtain: tHe necessary shipping for the purpose,. but this is a matter which can not be controlled from New Zealand, lithe providing, of ©hip« is in the hand* of the Ministry of Shipping.
