HOT DRINKS FOR SCHOOLCHILDREN.
HOME PROGRESS IN NELSON.
The question of providing school children with hot drinks, especially during the winter months.- was once again discussed at the monthly meeting of the Wellington Education Board, savs the Post.
The secretary reported that ho had circularised school committees asking for their opinions on the proposals. Only ten committees had, replied, all but one endorsing the idea. Some country committees reported that a simple scheme was already in operation the children bringing small contributions each week to cover the cost. It was suggested that other oommitees had no yet had an opportunty of considering the proposal, and consequently farther action by the Board was postponed until next meeting. It is some time since we heard what was being done in. the simple task of giving the children in this district a good hot. drink at dinnertime.
