Stewards’ Handicap); 1 Merton 1, 6 Divorce 2. 5 Roscvear 3. Scratched . Kaminohe. Amity. Hokitika, A length ; a neck. Time 1.18.

The Wellington Racing Chib’s Autumn Meeting opened in fine weather. The course is in good' order. There i s a large attendance. Results: —
First Hack Hurdles; Yankee Jack 1, Papanni 2. Multipal 3. Scratched; Munster. Won by four lengths, same between second and third. Time 3.12 3-5. New Zealand St. Leger Stakes : Afterglow 1, Star Lady 2. Almoner. These were the only starters. Two and a half lengths, two lengths. Time 3mins. Phir-iiket Nursery Handicap : Red j Pepper 1, Some Kid 2. Ermine . Won Iby a neck; half a length. Time 1.0 1-5. Thompson Handicap: Sasanoff 1. Spanner 2, Rude 3. Scratched, Rod Ribbon. Rebekah. Won by a neck. Time. 1.38, a record for the race and the course. North Island Challemrc Stakes. 7 furlongs : 3 Warplane 1, 2 Affectation 2, 4 Printemps 3. Also started : 1 Gloaming. At the barrier (Roaming moved too fait, and the tapes threw him. Affectat'nn W1 into the straight, where Wagplane joined him. A good race over the last two furlong, resulted in Warplane winning by a neck. Printemps was 20 lengths away. Time 1.26 3-5. Gloaming was lame in front on returnig to the birdcage. .
