INCREASE IN EXPORTS,

WELLINGTON, May 1. The total postal and telegraph reven-io for the quarter ended Mar.h 31st, 1919, 'wa*, ±1473,123, as compared with £696,353 for the first quarter of 1018. The value of the exp.u's from the Dominion during the first quarter of 1919 was £13,982,880, as against £10,192.585 for the corresponding period of 1918. The respective values of imports were £8,300,780 and £6,097,390. The Post Office Savings Bank deposits during the quarter ended March 51st, 1919, amounted to £6,865,478, and the withdrawals to £4,829,473. The excess of deposit s over withdrawals was £1,036,005. The figures for . the first quarter of last year were:—Deposits, £4,434,730; withdrawals, £3,349,322; excess of deposits, £1,084,408.
