ANTI-TOBACCO CAMPAIGN.
THE LATEST AMERICAN * CRUSADE. NEW YORK, Feb. 6 Mr Franklin Hali, former bead of toe Anti-Saloon. League of Indiana, and now organising secretary of the NoTobacco League of Americans, intends,, says the Evening • World, to open national headquarters at _ New York, -for a campaign to prohibit tho ii-ir- of tobacco.
Professor Homan, . of the department of economics at Syracuse University, originator of the anti-mcqtme crusade, says;— ' _ ; The league will favour a constitutional amendment .prohibiting the growing and use of tobacco. Our opponent,,, at first took the* tobacco restriction campaign as a dream, but now they are awakening to the fact that we are in earnest.. The anti-nicotine crusade will be prosecuted vigorously, dor tobacco evils are greater than' those of liquor.*
The “Trade” says we must keep the booze to cure the “flu.” But how manv will liquor kill before the “flu” comes? Vote for the (Jhii'd and the Nation on Thursday, next.
