JAPAN AND THE LEAGUE

PARIS, April 3,
Baron Makino, on being interviewed, said that Japan was ready to join the League of Nations as an equal. No Asiatic race could be happy in a league in which sharp racial discrimination was maintained. Japan did not wish to impose’Japanese labour immigration upon the associated countries. ■SPAIN. PARIS, April 3. The Spanish Government has informed President Wilson of its adhesion to the League of Nation,, covenant as far as essential principles are concerned.

BRITAIN’S BILL TO GERMANY,

Mr Lloyd George, stated that Britain was in full accord wi‘h France's desire for the fullest reparation from Germany. Britain would present a Bill to Germany, who has got to find a way of meeting it.

The New York World’s Paris correspondent states that' the total amount of German reparation will be fixed within two years, and will probably reach 45 billion dollars.
