HOW PAYMENTS ARE TO RE MADE.

PARIS, April 3,
it is understood that the Reparation and indemm-ies Commission has not yet decided on the total amount of the indemnities which Germany will have to pay, but has fixed the firs; two years’ payments. The rest will be arranged by* a special commission which will inquire how payments may be made without injuring Allied trade. The left bank of the Rhine will be occupied mini the Whole of the indemnities are paid. The “Echo do Paris’’ «ays that the Big Four have decided that Germany shall pay immediately £240,000,000 in cash. Vanous securities and deliveries of raw materials and good® are expected to increase : Die amount to £1,300,000,000.

The New York WorldT Paris cor respondent states that the Peace Conference has tentatively agreed, respecting reparation, that Germany will be asked to pay five billion dollar® immediately.

General Mangin has returned from the Rhine command (who has been appointed to command the Allied mission to Hungary), and 1* in charge of operations from" the Baltic to The Black Sea).
