THE PROHIBITION POLL.
Many electors lyrve been somewhat puzzled by the fact that it is proposed to pay compensation to the liquor trade when Prohibition is carried at the forthcoming poll. It is necessary to explain that under the old statute National Prohibition carried with it a time compensation to the trade of four and a-half, years. After very careful examination of the whole question, the National Efficiency Board (a body of Vpeciallly-selected /and disinterested business men set up by the Government to us certain what measures should be taken to ensure greater efficiency) reported that it would be in the national interest to give money compensation* rather than time compensation, and secure immediae Prohibition. Every patriotic New Zealander should vote this great reform. Strike out the top line on, Thursday, 10th April! .
