widespread: discontent. London, Jan. 20. Light thousand policemen from all parts of the United Kingdom participated in a mass meeting at. the Albert Hall. Reporters were rigorously excluded, strong guards of stewards being pasted at every entrance. Many Metropolitan police were refused admission, being unable to produce the official pass, it is understood that the. meeting passed eight drastic resolutions protesting against the autocratic methods of and victimisation by # chie! constables and demanding full’recognition of the union and a substantial increase in pay.
