TIDING OVER THE PRESENT DIFFICULTY.

WELLINGTON; Jan. 21.
The Hon. A. M. Myers stated to-day that ho had devoted much time with those concerned in obtaining further j supplies of coal and adjusting the quantities immediately available so as to j arrange ihe same to keep the more important public utilities going. As a result it is , hoped to tide over the present ‘difficulty which has been, created by the epidemic and the holiday®. HavS ing provided for industries to the best advantage, action is now being taken to endeavour to improve the position of household supplies, in the Wellington district in particular.
