MUST HOT BE HANDED TO BRITAIN

CONTROL BY LEAGUE OF NATIONS.

Mr Taft, in a speech at Washington, said that the German colonies must not. be given to Britain Or any other Pswer, but must be internationalised and placed under the control of the League of Nations. Germany had forfeited the title to the colonies by misHreatment of them. If the German Colchis' Avers given to Britain or France suspicion might arise that they were being exploited for selfish interests. Constantinople must be internationalised and administered by the League. The Dardanelles, the Sea of Mamora and the Bosphorus must be placed under £Kb guardianship of a homo Government, representing the Allies, ' ■ The American Monroe doctrine of the sovereignly of all nations would be strengthened by the League. The projected new republics in the Ukraine, /Baltic Finland, Poland, and Czechoslovaks must b© protected by the League. The new republic will hem in Germany and ; prevent her expansion towards Russia and the Near East.
