WELLINGTON, Jan. 21. The healing of the jewellers' dispute opened to-day, but was not concluded. The employers suggested' a renewal of the existing award! for three years, with no alteration in hours. They desired that the houre should bo 48 per week instead of 44 ns desired by the union. The Workers’ Union are asking for a weekly wage of £4, as against £3 4s now ruling, and increases are -also demanded in tlie case of female workers and apprentices.
