Mr G W. Horsley, •» welll-known resident of Christchurch, died on Saturday, aged 68 years. As a young man he was engaod in survey work ui' tno Auckland district, and later gained a reputation as an authority 0111 Maori lore. He; went to Christchurch about 18 vears ago, to join his brother. For over five years .Mar W. B. North, of Kohatu, has acted as horn, ppctotarv of the Motupiko-Korere branch Of the ' 'Farmers' Union, and has rendered such- good, service that his fellow members'' decided to make him a presentation in recognition thereof. The presentation was duly made at the last, meeting of the branch by Mr 3!/. Mead, the president, and took the form of a handsome., case of cutlery. The president, Messi-s G. Macmahon. C. .-P.
