FIRE BRIGADESMAN FAREWELLED.
After t/he usual monthly practu'i», ' v held last evening,' tht members of the Nelson Volunteer.Fiie Biigade met to bid farewell, to one of thoir number who is oh leave from camp. Captain -Woodward '. in bidding farewell to Fireman , AJshtoii. Jefferies, stated he had " joiheo! th« Brigade as a nitssenger boy and as SOO7V as he was old enough had been promoted to fireman. He proved to, h» ' one of the very best young- member.**' the Brigade had ever had. always^wiling and eager to do his duty/ arid "always obedient to his officers. Captain Woodward felt sure Fireman would, make as good a soldier' 03 h« had a fireman. On behalf of his bro : ther firemeiv he presented Fireman'<T *'- feries with a wristlet watch, and wished him God speed and a Sai-. return. Three hearty cheers were 'given- : fur the departing fireman, who sui'tftifely returned- thanks. The remainder of the evening was spent inharmony'.. .• Feeling reference was made Foreman H.
