News has been received in Nelson of the death at Dunedin of Mr William Bannatyne, the old st chief marine engineer in New Zealand. The deceased, who had attained the age of 91, was born in Scotland, and came out tc__M el bourne when a young man, and was on the engine-room staff of several vess.ls in Australian waters before he joined the Union Company in its early days.
