The D< fence Minister stated yesterday that the next ballot of men of Class C of the reserve will contain the names of 5000. men, a. reduction of fifty per ceufi. on the number of recant ballots Jle said that it was considered that the big ballots drawn in recent months had? He was not. however, ready to say anything about the future rate of reinforcements yet, although he hoped l to be in a position to do so in the course cf a few days. ■ •> The drawing will commence on Tuesday, July 16.
