STATE OF THE DRAFTS.

T. he recruiting authorities have -decid- ; that the next -Gazette summoning re-' sSi vists" for ' service with the Expeditionary Force shall be issued on July 24, five weeks after the publication of the last Gazette, says the Dominion. The Gazette will contain the nanies of another draft of men selected by bfillot from Class C, Second Division: It is likely that the number of men drawn this month will be £ooo.# Class C, contained originally about 26,000; men, of > whom. 10,000 were, drawn last mouth. The balance of about 16,000 men \\ill ; suffice for the July, August, and September ballots, if the draw is retkicecT to 5000 per month. Volunteers are still being accepted fpr the whiclhi will be, mobilised;„iieiXt week. ~The response to thfe call for volunteers for this, draft has been excellent, but thei'o: is still room for some more recruits. Aion who have been drawn in the' ballots atid ■ r set down for later dates may volunteer ,to enter camp this month. . " . . The August and .September drafts (Forty-fifth and Forty-sixth 'ReWor,cements) now con/tain/ more than 1300 men each. It is " , expected that recruitine will be closed shortly for these drafts. The men becoming , available voluntarily , or by ballot, will then be p'osted to: the October draft (Forty-seventh Reirvforcemerit). They are likely to include nvosfc of the first batch of Class O men, drntyn in the last ballot. Theso arrangements might be altered by a redtiction of the reinforcement quota in the near future, but there is yet' ho official information on that point. The number of CI men entering - the C.l camp this week is approximntejv 518. The First Division is at supplying about ■ 400 men a month to the reinforcement camps*.
