LONDON, May 16.

ALL the . British submarines in the Baltic were blow n up 'before the Germans could get them. The officers and crews are safe. CREW'S IN PETROGRAD. (Australian and N.Z. The Admiralty reports that seven British submarines which remained in Russian waters were destroyed by order between April 3rd and Bth, owing to German naval forces approaching Hango. The Russian Admiral rejected" a proposal to block the harbour by sinking ships in the entrance, but the destruction of the British submarines had_ an excellent effect, inducing the crews of merchantmen to destroy their vessels, which would otherwise have fallen into the hands of the er^efmy.
