The -French recaptured Ayencourt. The British recaptured German positions •west of Arras. (If east of Arras is not meant, this doubtless refers to positions south-east of Arras, forJhe line at pre- % Bent is three miles east of Arra3, proceeding in the south-easterly direction to 17 miles east of Amiens.)
