The French beat off an attack south of Moreuil. Sir Douglas Haig reports aviators bombed and ma-chine-gunned a large column of troops south of the Somme. We brought down three enemy aeroplanes. Four of ours are missing. Four previously reported missing have returned. * Night bombers dropped 24 tons of bombs on the stations at Douai, Cambrai Bapaume, Rosieres, and Thorout, and the docks at Bruges. They bomband machine-gunned troops and transport in the neighbourhood df Bapaume and Chaulnes. All returned.
