Eight youths charged at Sligo Courthouse for participation in an unlawful assembly, refused to remove their hats and began smoking. They sang Irish freedom songs. The Magistrate demapded an apology. , One of the youthj said he did riot regard. any representative of the British Constitution. The Magistrate imposed a sentence of seven days for* contempt of Court. 1 The prisoners thereupon threw themselves on the floor. _While the police were attempting to remove them the crowd in 'Court became threatening and a detachment, of military was summoned. The prisoners were carried out to a lorry and removed to a gaol amidst a scene of great excitement. aa————a———e-r***rn '
