———•——•— WAIMEA BRANCH. The Waimea branch of the Farmers' " Union met in th e Fire Brigade Hall, Richmond, on- the 23rd' inst., there beingl a'good attendance of members. The .president sent an apology, being ont of the - district, and' Mr J. Hunt was voted-'to th e chair. ' Messrs I>. Hammond, R. Burgess, T. Greig, T. Bright, F. Stone, and R. Palmer -were elected members. ' JSt:" copy of the Government regulations for the purchase and. sale of wheat ■was received, mid the secretary reported having interviewed the AssistantWheat Controller while in Nelson. After considerable discission, during which members quoted the prices they had 1 received for their wheat and' the prices they had .paid for fowl wheat, it was resolved* that the secretary write to the Wheat Controller to see whether the fourpence allowed the North Island - could, not foe granted' to the Nelson province, and whether the retailing . price of fowl wheat could not be fixed in accordance with milling wheat. It was resolved that the nest meeting be at Wakefield.
